Hello loves!

We had the best/busiest week and it was awesome! Hermana Thompson came to YSA for exchanges and it was so much fun. We stopped by as many formers (former investigators) as we could between lessons and either we would  teach them or find people on the way. My favorite one we stopped by was someone we have tried by like 5 or more times just because of how close it is to our other investigators and when we knocked her mom didn't answer but in a very upset tone said "She is not here. GO AWAY" yikessss. I can't lie though it was really funny. Or another time this week we were stopping by a different former and she wasn't home but her aunt and uncle were sitting on their porch and invited us to sit with them. They were the nicest couple ever and they offered us icecream cake and sprite and just talked to us for around an hour. haha. We were able to give them a little lesson and Book of Mormon. As I was sitting there with them I had one of those moments of whoa I would never have had this experience if I didn't come on my mission.

Another miracle this week was when we were teaching this former named Josie. We were teaching the restoration and her little sister came out and wanted to learn too. Everything was going super well and I never do this but I felt super prompted in that second to invite both of them to be baptized on May 13th and they said yes! They came to church yesterday and Josie looked to happy. She had been struggling to know where she belonged and she told us that she felt super loved by all the members. :)

Another one of our investigators named Amber is on date for May 6th! She is so prepared and has become one of my best friends. Ahh I just love her so much!

Yesterday after sacrament I was talking to my recent converts Killian and Sahlma and the people they are dating from the ward with Amber(investigator) and her boyfriend and I loved every second of it. Im a missionary match maker ;) It's the best job in the entire world!

I hope everyone had the best week ever! It is officially summer here and it just gets hotter and hotter every week. I cannot even describe how different it is than Washington. It's like a whole other planet.

I love you all with all of my heart!

Love,

Sister Nye

I just wanted to write my simple testimony today since yesterday was Easter and I feel overwhelmed with gratitude for my Savior.

I know Heavenly Father loves each one of us so much and he fully intends for all of his children to make it back to him and that is why he gave us the plan of salvation and central to that plan is the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know Jesus Christ lives and because of him everything is possible and death has no sting. I hope everyone reading this email can understand the peace and hope that message brings. We will live again and more importantly we will live again with our family and loved ones. My brother got sealed (married) this weekend so I have been pondering the idea of eternal families a lot.  I cannot express how thankful I am to God that I get to be with the people I love forever.

We will all make mistakes or go through trials but because of Christ we can change and be healed. I love repentance and I feel like I have come to understand what it means a lot better while on my mission. We are able to repent everyday. Anything that causes us to turn towards our Savior is repentance. My favorite way to explain it is as a daily course correction. By no means are we supposed to be perfect in this life but Heavenly Father sure wants us to try our hardest.
There is a way back home to Heavenly Father and the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints provides the path. This is the way and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the Kingdom of God. Jesus Christ is our way.

I love you all so much! I hope you are all able to find peace in our Savior and feel the love he has for you!

Love,

Sister Nye

Hello Everyone!!!!

This email is going to be shorter just because lack of time but I wanted to quickly fill you in on everything that has been going on!

Sister Vasquez and I are receiving so many blessings we don't even know what to do with them all! We were able to help our Investigators Amber and Efren(siblings) get on date for baptism on May 6th. I have been so amazed by their testimonies. We decided to do a lesson on the Book of Mormon this week and at the beginning I asked them if they has prayed to know if the Book of Mormon is true. Amber responded "oh I am way past that. I have no doubt this book is true. " and then her brother who has only been taking lesson for a week at this point says "I'm with her" I think I must have had the biggest goofiest smile on my face. Ahh..I love the Book of Mormon. Everything in this church relies on if it is true or not and that is why when investigators gain that testimony I get soooo happy!

The YSA went on a temple trip this weekend to Arizona and they took three of my recent coverts and all of them got to do baptisms for the dead for the first time! Ivette even got to go and she just got baptized last weekend and she had the best experience. Also Eric passed the sacrament and Sahlma taught the Sunday school lesson yesterday. I love seeing them progress and how much they have changed since we first start meeting with them. I have 100% turned into my mom because I just tear up over all these small moments now.

I am looking forward to this coming week! I love Easter and being on a mission and getting to focus on Jesus Christ 24/7 makes this year seem even more special. I am so thankful for Christ and his infinite atoning sacrifice that makes everything possible. Because of him we always have a chance to make it home.

I love you all so much!!!

Love,
Sister Nye

Well everyone we had transfer news this week and.... I'm staying in YSA!  haha I will be serving in this area for 7 1/2 months or the rest of my mission.  I could see it going either way. I am so happy I get to stay though. This past week I had the prompting that I was staying and that I still have work to do in El Paso.

We had a super eventful week! It was my birthday, Relief Society birthday, conference, Ivettes baptism and a lot of finding. We got a new investigator named Efren and if you want the story on how we found him you will have to ask me personally because if I write it in a email it will sound super creepy hahaha. Lets just say we knew exactly when and where he would be getting off the bus after school and we just happened to bump into him ;)

Conference weekend was so good. Watching conference as a missionary is such a different experience. It was so refreshing to listen to the Prophet at apostles speak.

Ivette got baptized last night! WOOHOO! What a great way to end the week. When she came out of the water she was crying as she looked around at everyone that came to support her. There is no way I will ever deny the spirit that was in that room. She was able to get confirmed a member and receive the Holy Ghost right after. This weekend she is going on a temple trip with our ward up to Mesa Arizona for the Easter pageant and I know her testimony will be strengthened even more.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! I loved being on my mission for my birthday. It was super different than normal (buffalo wild wings wasn't involved) but it was so much fun and we got a lot of work done!

I love you all!
