September 25, 2017

I'm sure this wont make or break your week but I'm in Albuquerque for the temple and a meeting so I don't have time this week to write a group email.

Everything is going REALLY good though! Seriously so many random miracles.

I love you all!!!! You are all in my prayers!!!

Sep 18, 2017

Hello everyone!!!

We got transfer news and I am staying in 4th ward with my new companion Sister Hay. We have been serving around each other the past 4 1/2 months so we know each other pretty well! She is a super hard worker  so I know we will be able to get a lot of things done. Sister Olson is heading up to Albuquerque to train a new missionary and open a new area. It's weird to have her leave after being with her so long. I'm excited for the change though!

This week we had zone conference and got some really good training's on the doctrine of Christ. I left feeling super motivated to talk to everyone. Zone conference always makes me realize how little time I have out here and that I have to make every single second count. Also I got to see Hunter Warren from back home. It is so crazy to see people I knew before the mission.

Will Rambo got baptized on Saturday!! Love that guy. When he found out sister Olson was leaving he said "I see. You dunked me and now you're leaving." Will has been such a fun person to teach because we could really see the peace and hope that came into his life from the gospel. He used to feel so guilty and depressed about his spouses death but there has been a light in his eyes ever since he heard that talk in sacrament meeting the first Sunday he came about death having no sting and he has been glowing ever since.

JJ was called to be the young women's secretary and she is so excited. The Bishop gave her handbook 2 and she highlighted it like crazy. I have never seen someone so exited about a calling but she is soaking up everything in the church right now.

Well I love you all so much!! I miss you like crazy and I hope you all have a great week!

"Call me Sister JJ"

Hello loved ones!!

JJ, Nic and Jazon got baptized this weekend and it was awesome!!! So many ward members came to support them. Yesterday they got confirmed members of the church and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Before JJ sat down after being welcomed into the ward she turned around to the whole congregation and went "WHOOHOO". Classic JJ. Everyone was laughing and she was smiling from ear to ear. I cannot wait to see what is in this families future. They were promised some really great blessing when they got confirmed. I love them!

Will came to their baptism and it really helped settle his nerves. He has made a really good friend in our ward name Bill Baggs(pretty much my best friend) and I've adopted the two of them as my mission grandpas. Whenever they see each other for lessons they put their arms around each other and say "You're a good guy Will." "You're a good guy Bill." Will gets baptized this weekend so keep him in your prayers.

OHH FUNNY STORY:
We went to stop by a potential investigator named Tony this week and we were fortunate enough to meet his very drunk friend Frank. Frank is in his 50's and he was asking us advice for what to do since his wife was mad at him for drinking. We tried our best to help him but he wasn't all there. Fast forward 10 minutes and I'm setting up and appointment with Tony to stop by again. In my peripheral vision I see Tony reach over to touch sister Olson Stomach and he says "Are you pregnant?" I tried so hard to keep it together but it was so funny. She slapped his hand away and told him no but he said "Don't lie to me." First off sister Olson is so thin so obviously he was oblivious and second WHO DOES THAT? We got back in our car to drive home and Sister Olson was just screaming. I texted our whole zone and called the zone leaders just because it was too good to keep to myself. Now pretty much the ward knows and there was a sticky note on our car yesterday that said "are you pregnant?" man good times.... I love the mission. (Also Sister Olson thinks this is funny so don't worry)

I love you all so much!! I hope you are having a great week!!

Love,
Sister Nye

HAPPY SEPTEMBER!

Hola Everyone!!!

This week was crazy awesome! haha...hold on I gotta think of what happened.

Oh yes okay so JJ and the boys are officially getting baptized this week! It has been such a roller coaster with them.. It seems like every time they would have a date to be baptized someone would get sick or something would come up, but we have been fasting and praying a lot and we know that this is the one! She is so excited too. They announced her baptism in church yesterday and I think that really helped to make it sink in that she was really going to do it. I have never seen someone change so much in my mission. She will always tell us how the gospel has changed her and she is a better, nicer person because of it. I think it's really cool that she can see the change in herself as well.

We did family history with Will this week and he was 100% sure he wouldn't be able to find anyone. All he knew was his mothers name and where she was from in a little town in Mexico. He kinda remembered his grandpas name but didn't feel confident in it. Well we got on and found his grandparents and all of his aunts and uncles that have passed away. We even found his uncles that he hadn't seen since he was 5. He was amazed and couldn't believe all the people the computer found. He is even more excited now to take his family names to the temple.

AND I got to go on exchanges with sister Hazen this week! It was a dream, literally we kept saying how unreal it was to be together again. She only has 2 transfers left and I'm kinda hoping she will be sent to 4th ward for her last two so we can be comps again. I miss her so much already. We got to have lunch with our best friend from YSA  and since she taught me how to teach it was cool to teach in complete unity again.

Oh and I almost just forgot my favorite miracle from the week! So we were driving back from ABQ and stopped in Los Lunas for gas and we met a super cool guy. He was standing outside his car and asked us if we wanted to talk. He told us he had just gotten divorced and found out the day before that he has a serious illness.  he wanted to believe that God was there for him but felt like he had no knowledge of Him. We shared parts of the plan of salvation and asked if we could send missionaries to talk to him. It was so random but it just shows that there are millions of people all over the world that are being prepared to receive this message! He agreed and we were able to set up an appointment for him and the elders that serve up there.

Well I love you all so much!!! I hope you have a great labor day!!

Love,

Sister Nye
